Founded in 2003, Pahal Jan Sahyog Vikas Sansthan is a grassroots development organization based in Indore, Madhya Pradesh.
For over two decades, we have worked with women, children, and youth to challenge discrimination, strengthen leadership, and build communities where dignity is non-negotiable.
A Gender-Just, Democratic, and Caring Society.
Equal power, opportunities, and voice for women and children.
Fairness, respect, and inclusion for women and children.
PAHAL is a professionally managed, field-driven organization working across seven districts of Madhya Pradesh β including Indore, Barwani, Khargone, Burhanpur, Damoh, Singrauli, and Bhopal.
Our work stands at the intersection of:
We partner with communities, government systems, and global institutions to turn policy into protection and vulnerability into opportunity.
We work inside villages and urban settlements.
We are proud partners of international and national institutions such as VSO International (UK), NOREC (Norway), and Tata Institute of Social Sciences (TISS). Transparency and measurable impact guide every collaboration.
For women facing violence or abandonment, we provide professional counselling, legal guidance, and livelihood support β helping them rebuild independent and secure lives. Motivating childrenβs (specially Girls) for studies.
Through Bal Panchayats and youth platforms, we prepare children and young leaders to participate in democratic processes and shape their own futures.
We follow a simple three-step model :
Listen β Understand local realities and power structures.
Equip β Provide knowledge, skills, and institutional support.
Elevate β Strengthen local leadership so change continues beyond the project cycle.
Our role is not to replace systems β it is to strengthen them.
At PAHAL, change begins with a first step.
And for thousands of families, that first step has already begun.
